Short-coat breeds (Lab, Pit Bull): every 8–12 weeks or as needed. Toy breeds: every 4–6 weeks depending on style. Show dogs: every 2–4 weeks to maintain coat quality.

What's the Difference Between a Bath and a Full Groom?

Accepted Answer

A bath only (~$40–$60, 60–90 minutes) includes shampooing, rinsing, and drying, basic de-shedding, but no haircut. A full groom ($75–$175+, 2–4 hours) includes bath, dry, and haircut, nail trimming and paw pad care, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression. Most dogs need a full groom every 6–8 weeks; baths can happen more frequently.

My Dog Has Never Been Groomed Before. Will They Be Anxious?

First-time groomers are our specialty. We take extra time, use lots of positive reinforcement, and never force anything. If your dog is really nervous, we can do a meet and greet first visit (bath only, no cut) to build trust. Tell us upfront if your dog is anxious — we'll adjust our approach.

Can I Stay While My Dog Is Groomed?

We actually recommend drop-off. Dogs are more relaxed when their owners aren't in the room, and it's easier for us to work efficiently. But we understand if you prefer to wait — just let us know.

What If My Dog Gets Matted Between Appointments?

Accepted Answer

Mats happen, especially with doodles and long-coated breeds. We can de-mat during grooming, but it adds time and cost. The best approach is regular grooming to prevent matting in the first place. Brush between appointments — we're happy to show you how.
