Helpaws
HelpPAWS is a foster-based rescue organization on the island of Saint Lucia. Charlene Penney founded HelpAWS when she moved to the island in 2014 with her St Lucian Fiancé. She is originally from New Brunswick, brooklynpetspa Canada and holds a post- graduate degree in Non-Profit Management, and a Diploma in Animal Welfare.
The puppies HelpAWS rescues are usually 5 months old and younger. This is because almost all of them are abandoned at a young age by their “owners” or simply found on the side of the road at the mercy of passing traffic. Left alone on the streets, puppies have a very short life span, so HelpAWS tries to rescue as many as they can!
