How Often Should You Groom Your Cat?

It depends on coat type: Short-haired cats: every 4–8 weeks or as needed (when you notice mats, long nails, or odor). Long-haired cats: every 6–8 weeks to prevent mats and reduce shedding. Senior cats: every 4–6 weeks, as they struggle with self-grooming due to arthritis or stiffness. Regular grooming keeps skin healthy, prevents painful matting, and catches health issues early.

My Cat Has Never Been Groomed Before. Will They Be Anxious?

First-time groomers are our specialty. We take extra time, use positive reinforcement, and never force anything. If your cat is especially nervous, we can start with a meet and greet visit (bath only, no haircut) to build trust. Please let us know in advance if your cat is anxious — we'll adjust our approach accordingly.

What's the Difference Between a Bath and a Full Groom for a Cat?

A cat bath only (~$83, 60–90 minutes) includes shampooing, rinsing, and drying, brush out, and nail trimming — but no haircut. A full groom ($138+, 2–3 hours) includes bath, drying, haircut, nail trimming, and ear cleaning. Most cats benefit from a full groom every 6–8 weeks, while baths can be scheduled more frequently if needed.

Can I Stay During My Cat's Grooming?

We recommend drop-off. Cats are more relaxed when their owners aren't in the room, and it's easier for us to work efficiently. But we understand if you prefer to wait — just let us know.

What If My Cat Gets Aggressive During Grooming?

We're trained to handle resistant and aggressive cats. We know how to read cat body language and adjust our approach. If we sense your cat is too stressed, we'll pause, reset, and continue when they're calmer. We prioritize safety for both your cat and our staff.
